New York -” Hyundai Genesis is previewing the future of the increasingly prominent luxury brand with a large new all-electric concept car called the Newlon.
The full-size SUV features a sleek exterior design illuminated by long horizontal headlights and taillights reminiscent of the brand's current electric vehicles, although more modern.
Neolun's interior design — derived from the Greek word “neo,” or new, and the Latin word “luna,” meaning moon — is minimalistic compared to many modern concepts that include door-to-door displays. The SUV features a large central screen with physical buttons below it and a control panel and knob to the driver's right.
The car's front seats can rotate to face the rear passengers for lounge seating.
“The Neolun concept is a conceptual model that showcases the future vision for Genesis, as well as the overall direction the brand is headed in terms of product, design and technological advancement,” Genesis said in an email statement.
Automakers routinely use concept vehicles to gauge customer interest or show the future direction of a vehicle or brand. The vehicles are not intended to be sold to consumers.

The company declined to reveal whether the car is a preview of Genesis' upcoming all-electric large SUV, which is growing its lineup in the United States.
Genesis sales in the United States increased 23% last year to a record 69,175 units compared to 2022. Genesis, which became its own brand in 2015, has outsold more established luxury rival Infiniti and expects sales to continue to grow this year.
“Our independent retail footprint is rapidly expanding, and the brand continues to achieve record sales results in the United States,” Tedros Mengest, vice president of sales operations at Genesis Motor America, said in a statement last week.
