Users of Meta's Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Messenger platforms are experiencing login issues in what appears to be a widespread outage.
Internet traffic monitor Down Detector reported widespread outages on several Meta platforms on Tuesday. These issues are being reported around the world, suggesting that the outage may be global.
Four Meta platforms — Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads — “are currently experiencing outages related to login sessions in multiple countries,” London-based internet monitoring company Netblocks said on X. But the company, which advocates for internet freedom, said there was no indication of “nationwide internet outages or blockages”, which are usually imposed by governments.
Andy Stone, head of communications at Meta, acknowledged the issues on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said the company was “working on this now.”
