The Financial Times and its research partner Statista are launching a new project: to identify the best companies to work for – in different regions of the world. Employees will be invited to provide employer ratings, and these ratings will be used to compile a “Best Employers” ranking across the region.
Research has now begun on the first of these rankings: for employers in the Asia-Pacific region.
It will be implemented in two stages:
FT readers will be invited to nominate a company for inclusion in the 'Top Employer' search, by completing this simple online form (2 minutes to fill out). Readers may be employees of the nominating company, or be nominated by them in another capacity. Each nominated company will be screened and, if it meets the eligibility criteria for the search (see below), will be added to the list of companies entering the second stage: employee survey. In addition, Statista will search thousands of companies using numerous sources (industry associations, trade journals, economic research institutes, etc.) to compile a list of qualified employers in the Asia-Pacific region;
Employees of nominated companies will be contacted via online access panels to complete the survey. These panels are composed of workers from thousands of companies across the region who have already agreed to participate in anonymous online surveys (and are therefore not selected or influenced by their employers, ensuring independence). In addition, employees and FT readers will be invited to participate in the survey via the FT website, from 2 May to 20 June. Employees will be asked to rate employers and companies other than their own, based on their experience with them. Both full-time and part-time employees can participate.

Based on the survey ratings, each company will receive a score and the 500 companies with the highest scores will be included in the final ranking. This will be published in a special report with the Financial Times, and on FT.com, on 14 November 2024.
To be eligible for inclusion in the Asia Pacific Best Employers search, companies must have at least 1,000 employees across the region, in one or more of the following 14 countries:
Australia; Hong Kong; India; Indonesia; Japan; Macau; Malaysia; New Zealand; Filipino; Singapore; South Korea; Taiwan; Thailand; Vietnam.
Nominations can be submitted via the online form until April 5, 2024.
Employee surveys will be conducted from May 2024. If you would like information about the survey phase, or have questions about participating, please email: best-employers-apac@statista.com.
Please note: Nomination does not guarantee a company's participation in the survey phase – surveys and assessments will be subject to eligibility and completed independently.
